Feline Senior Wellness Program (Ages 8 and over)

Senior pets need special attention!

Health care for your older pet goes beyond regular vaccinations, parasite control, dental cleaning, regular exercise and good nutrition. Our Feline Senior Wellness program seeks to promote health in older pets by focusing on the body systems that are most affected by aging. We begin the process by obtaining a complete history and performing a thorough physical examination. We perform screening procedures that provide us with accurate information about your pet's health and allow us to provide the care required to improve the length and quality of your pet's life.

Physical Examination every 6 months

Examinations are recommended even though your pet appears completely healthy to you. Early diagnosis can promote more successful treatment or control.  If problems are not detected early, they can become serious and your pet may become ill. At an advanced stage, it is likely that treatment will be more expensive and difficult.

Annual Immunizations:

Distemper

Panleukopenia

Calicivirus

Rhinotracheitis

Leukemia

Rabies (every three years)

Revolution for Parasite Control

Annual Thorough Dental Examination and Cleaning, includes:

            Pre- and Post-Procedural Instructions

Preanesthetic Examination and Preanesthetic Blood Panel

Sedative, Pain Control, and Antibiotic Injections

Intravenous fluids

Anesthetic

Ultrasonic Scaling

Dental Charting

Annual ECG

Annual Urinalysis

Annual Comprehensive Blood Chemistries, Complete Blood Count, Electrolytes and T4

We believe that this type of laboratory testing, performed on a yearly basis, is extremely important in ensuring the health of your senior pet. Many disease conditions common in our older companions can be difficult or impossible to detect on physical examination alone. Very commonly, these abnormalities can be detected via this testing and addressed before they turn into serious problems.

The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both you and your pet. Please contact the clinic for further details.
